Death Ray Comics​

Primary Mark of Identity

My goal with this mark was to take this comic shop and create a logo that really embodied the 'Buck Rogers meets The Misfits' -energy that a name like Death Ray Comics gives. 

​

I was heavily inspired by retro-future aesthetic, Radio Flyer wagons, 50's toy rayguns, vintage cars, and the song 'Mission' by the Phenomenauts.

 

It was really important for me that the raygun shape I used felt exactly like those vintage 'spaceman' guns, with the proper amount of chunkiness to visually speak to their metal construction and that iconic 'fin' shape at the top.
